If Khemik is looking a little worse for wear, it's because he was my very first model horse - my mother has a photo of me hugging him at my 6th birthday party. This guy has a special place in my heart, so it was appropriate that his sire and dam do as well - he is the exception to our mostly Polish breeding program. Laurie Jensen and I had the opportunity to visit the real Khemosabi shortly before his 31st birthday and he still looked absolutely magnificent. What a thrill when his handler had to run back to the barn and left me holding his lead while Khemo nuzzled us to see if we had any treats for him. First foal crop: 1993 |  |
