Breeding Rules

Our horses may not be used as the sire/dam of your model without written permission from us. Please do not use our photos or pedigree assignments without permission. To request a breeding, please send the following information to pookaa01@comcast.net :

Foal's Name
Year Foaled (please include a second choice if requesting a breeding from one of our mares)
Color
Breed
Gender
Model/Mold Info
Desired Sire
Desired Dam
Your Name/Farm Name

Other Parents ~ If both parents are not owned by Caballos Del Mar, please include the same detailed information on the other parent including a 3+ generation pedigree if available. If you do not own the other parent, we will assume that you have permission to use that horse as a parent of your foal. The breeder of record will be the mare's owner.

Aging ~ All of our horses are aging. Each horse's page will show the years they are available. If you prefer to have a non-aging foal, we will allow that, but will assign an available year for your foal.

Equine Color Genetics ~ Please follow appropriate equine color genetics. There are many excellent online resources available now, including Daralyn Wallace's page and Equine Color.com, as well as the always useful Color Calculator. If you have any questions, just ask.

Breed Naming Rules and Requirements ~ Certain real horse breeds/registries have specific naming requirements or name length restrictions. Please follow these rules when selecting names for your models. You may find a copy of some of the naming rules at the IPABRA website.

We use prefixes/suffixes for certain breeds of horses. While we generally do not insist on using them in foals produced by our horses, it is always appreciated, especially if one of our mares is used as the dam. Our stable prefixes are noted for each breed where applicable.

Pedigrees ~ Model horses are shown in bold text. Real horses are denoted with an "®" symbol after their names. Clicking on the name or photo of a model on the list will take you to that horse's individual pedigree page.

Fees ~ We are happy to arrange e-mail breedings for free. We will e-mail you an MS Excel breeding certificate and you may find additional information on each horse's individual page. If you cannot access Excel files, please let us know - we can create MS Word documents if necessary. No snail mail services are offered at this time.

The Models ~ This is a work in progress and even though we have a modest selection of horses available, we still have loads of models yet to be added. So check back from time to time - we'll note new additions to the list when they appear.
