things to do before the trollops arrive

Heard from Dad yesterday. He was somewhere in Iowa, working his way to Faith, SD. It sounds like he had a lot of fun at his high school reunion, although he said that several people had to cancel, so they didn't have a large turn-out. Mom is having a good time with her sister, neices, nephews, grand-n's, etc. Cousins Mark and Steph were there to visit, and Aunt Anita is coming today.

The heat wave broke - at last. It's only in the 70's now, rather than the upper 90's. Glad for that. It was pretty windy yesterday, which I noticed when I went out skating. *Whew!*

Haven't given you any bizarre websites to visit in a while, so here's one - Taquitos.net. They review potato chips and the like - over 1,000 reviews from all over the world. They have some interesting topics on their site, including: Chip Mascots, Words of Wisdom, and [my personal favorite] Words that Rhyme with Taquito. They also include various Top Chip Lists, as well as the Worst Chips Ever, which include such yummies as Walkers Pickled Onion Monster Munch and Cuttlefish Flavored Snack. Excuse me??

For those of you who haven't seen the PNG pictures in the Trip Reports, this is a Cuttlefish:

Now, how many of you would have look at a critter like this and thought, "What a brilliant idea for a snack product!" Show of hands?

[Right.]
