Just when I thought we had all our travel plans set for next year's PNG trip, Nick sent an e-mail that started, "Houston, we have a problem."

Apparently Air Niugini only has flights from Port Moresby to Singapore on Thursdays and Sundays - we need it on Tuesday. Frantic searches for alternatives involving Manila, Hong Kong and various cities in Australia. I found some possibilities via Brisbane, but we'll have to see if they really work.

[*sheesh*]

I went to dinner with my friend John tonight. He's been off work for about ten days now, and has a couple of interviews set up. We met at Fork for a drink, had some mediocre white wine and then walked down the street to Anjou for dinner. It was nice - John had the shrimp shumai and I had the tuna tartare to start. Then we shared a order of sushi and the wasabi caesar salad for entrees. It was nice to catch up on things.

Miss Suki continues to leave her toy mice for me. When I came out of the bathroom this morning, she was standing there outside the door, with "Yellow Mouse" in her mouth. I think she believes that when I leave I am going out to forage for food, so she tries to show me that she has plenty of mice and I don't need to go. It's really very cute.

[Either that, or she's trying to teach me what I'm supposed to bring home and I'm not doing a good job.]
