fly

hours on a plane

Friday, 21 July, 2006

We have a 2:00 flight to California this afternoon. We arrive around 4:30 and will head over to Burbank for my Aunt Muriel's memorial service tomorrow. Many of the family are already there and we'll see them tonight, and more tomorrow, of course. Then it's back to the airport for the 10:00 p.m. red-eye home.

So my project once we get through security: find a book to read. I had one at home I was thinking of starting, but it is a massive hardback, so I think something a little less weighty would be a good idea.

[I'll keep you posted.]

One of the good reads I had earlier this year was The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi. It's sci-fi/fantasy, so not everyone's taste, but an excellent sequel to his Old Man's War. He also has a blog, and today gave an excellent comparison of the right way and the wrong way to sell ad space to a blogger. Actually, I think his points would apply well to selling most things.

[Perhaps some of those spammers trying to sell me "Via4gra" should pay attention.]

Quote du jour:

"The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself."
