Still cold. But not for long - according to the intrepid weather charlatans, it's supposed to be almost 60 degrees by Monday. The longer term forecast, however, is for more cold to follow after that, but I suppose that is to be expected since it is, well, winter.

[Even though I voted against having it this year.]

Speaking of voting, Iowa has apparently decided who we're going to have to listen to for the next eleven months. I don't remember giving Iowa my proxy to decide that, but there ya go. Since we really don't watch network television (aside from sports), I actually won't be listening to any of them anyway, at least if I can help it.

I decided that I needed to try to gain a better understanding of what I can do with my new iPod Touch that Gary bought me. It can play music and videos and surf wirelessly. All sorts of things can be loaded onto it through iTunes, and I'll try to spend some time figuring all that out this weekend. But I thought this just summed up how amazing technology is today:

The iPod touch also has the capability to detect the current and last 10 songs playing in a Starbucks café within the vicinity of the device, and offers the user the opportunity to download the tracks in the iTunes music store.

Whether or not I ever download a song played in a Starbucks is irrelevant. The fact that it can do this is just really, really cool.

[I think I need a latte.]
